Character Classes
The next step is to pick a class. In Dungeons & Dragons, classes define your character's abilities, skills, and the role of your character. Here is a quick overview of each class from the Player's Handbook:
Barbarian
Barbarians are masters of primal rage who specialize in melee combat, using their rage to boost strength, resilience, and damage output.
Bard
Known for their charismatic performances and spellcasting, bards use music, storytelling, oratory, and other forms of artistic expression to inspire allies.
Cleric
Clerics are devout followers of a deity or a divine concept, and they focus their magic on healing wounds, protecting allies, and smiting enemies.
Druid
Powerful shapeshifters and spellcasters, druids draw their power from the natural world, transforming into animals, casting elemental spells, and maintaining balance in nature.
Fighter
Whether trained in archery, two-weapon fighting, or heavy weapon mastery, fighters are highly skilled warriors who can master a wide range of weapons and armor skills.
Monk
In addition to being disciplined warriors and masters of unarmed combat, monks can specialize in different monk traditions, focusing on unarmed strikes, weapon mastery, or mystical abilities.
Paladin
A Paladin is a holy warrior whose oaths grant them the power to smite evil, protect innocents, and heal allies. They are heavily armored champions who blend martial prowess with divine magic.
Ranger
Often forming bonds with animals, rangers are skilled at ranged combat, survival skills, and scouting. They can specialize in archery, two-weapon fighting, or spellcasting with an emphasis on tracking and nature.
Rogue
Masters of stealth, cunning, and agility, rogues specialize in espionage, traps, and unlocking hidden secrets. They are excellent at both melee and ranged combat.
Sorcerer
Born with an innate magical talent, sorcerers deal with magic in a more intuitive way rather than studying. They have the ability to cast powerful spells and manipulate energy types.
Warlock
Warlocks gains magical power through partnership with supernatural beings. They can harness dark powers, fey influences, or eldritch knowledge through eldritch invocations.
Wizard
A wizard is a student of arcane magic who studies ancient texts and practices spellcraft to wield powerful spells. With their arcane knowledge, wizards can manipulate reality and unravel mysteries.
